Put it on your Home Screen

1. Open this page in Safari on your iPhone.
2. Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen, then Add.
3. Open it from the Home Screen from now on. It runs full screen and works with no signal.

The first open needs a signal so it can save itself for offline use. After that, airplane mode is fine.

Lock the phone to this app (Guided Access)

1. Settings, Accessibility, Guided Access, turn it on. Set a passcode. Turn on Accessibility Shortcut.
2. Open Go In For, then triple-click the side button and tap Start.
3. Notifications, other apps, and the Home gesture are blocked until you triple-click again and enter the passcode.

Guided Access keeps other apps out. The Pocket screen in the menu keeps pocket taps out: it shows only the clock and the call, and it unlocks with a one-second hold.

Pre-game checklist

• Ringer switch on. AirPods in if you want the calls spoken.
• A natural voice: Settings, Accessibility, Spoken Content, Voices, English, download an Enhanced or Premium voice, then pick it under Announcing.
• Screen brightness up. The app keeps the screen awake while the clock runs.
• Tap the kids who are here. Check the minutes line under the roster.
• Tap Start the game. It picks a legal starting lineup; change it if you like, then tap Kick off at the whistle.
• Triple-click for Guided Access, tap the menu and choose Pocket screen.

During the game

• Before kickoff the clock waits. The field shows the starters the app picked. Drag kids, tap a pair to swap them, or tap Starters and choose the whole lineup. Nobody's minutes count until you tap Kick off.
• One minute before a swap it says who is coming. When the timer hits, it says it again and buzzes.
• On the game screen, tap a kid for Sub, Goalie, Left, or Pick a swap. Drag a kid by the handle to move them. Hold Menu for undo, pocket screen, roster, and end game.
• Tap Done once the kids have moved. It repeats the call every so often until you do. Tapped by mistake? Undo sits on the message for a few seconds.
• A kid shows up late: tap their name under Not here yet. They join the bench and every rule about them is live again. Only use Remove (under Edit team) to take a kid off the team for good.
• A kid walks off: tap Left on their row. It names the next kid to send in and checks back with you after a few minutes.
• Tap a kid on the field, then a kid on the bench, to swap by hand. Undo is in the menu.
• Short a side, or the other team finally has six? Tap 4v4, 5v5, or 6v6 above the field list. The app says who goes in or comes off.
• Want a kid off now? Tap Sub on their row. The app names who goes in for them.
• Every rule shows what it costs. As you build one, the app plays today's game in memory with and without it and tells you who would end up short. The Rules card shows the minutes range for today's kids.
• When the field is short, over, or breaking a rule, a Fix it call appears with the smallest swap that puts it right. Tap Done once it is done, or Leave it to keep things as they are.
• No idea what happened out there? Tap Who's on? above the field list, tap the kids you can see on the field, then That's who's on. Everyone else goes to the bench and the plan re-forms.
• Lost track of who switched? Drag a kid by the handle on their row to the field or the bench so the app matches what is really out there. Drop a kid on another kid to swap them. If that leaves too many on, the plan says who comes off.

Back-to-back games

• End the game from the menu, then tap Next game, carry on. The kids who were waiting start the next game, longest wait first, and the minutes carry over so the day stays fair.
• The setup screen shows who starts. Switch to Fresh start there if you would rather begin from the roster.

Known limits

• The phone screen has to stay on. iOS freezes web apps when the screen locks, so there are no locked-screen alerts.
• The ringer switch must be on for the voice and the beep.
• Nothing leaves the phone. Roster and games are saved in this browser only. Use the roster link to move a roster to another phone.
